Our mission

We want people to discover the region we were born and raised and the best way to do so is by tasting it! We don't have a lot of dishes on the menu because we want to work with fresh products. Every morning Mitch goes to the Chinese market in London to buy fresh vegetables, fruit and all the other ingredients he needs. We are different from the regular Chinese restaurants because we don't serve the regular dishes like nasi goreng and egg rolls. We cook very traditional dishes that find their origin in the Hunan region, where Mr. Xue was born.

Waiter Gaétan

My name is Gaétan and I'm the waiter of  Xue Family Restaurant. I was born in 1986 in Belgium and at 5 years old my family decided to migrate to Britain. I 've been working in this restaurant since 2007 and been loving this restaurant since I joined them. I have a great passion for Chinese food.
My role in this restaurant is to serve people the food they ordered in a nice and unique way. We like to be a high quality restaurant where people happily come back to.

My name is Qiaochu Xue. My father Tuomasi Xue founded this restaurant and  in 2014 he retired and I had to take the role of owner.
I prepare the food so I have a lot to do, but I don't mind because I love cooking.
I always try to make the best food and I get a lot of help from my staff. My staff and I both have a passion for Chinese food and we hope to deliver great food to the customers.

Did you know

Ice cream was said to have originated in China around 2000 BC. According to historians, an emperor loved it so much and kept it a royal secret before Marco Polo came and brought the idea to Italy. Ice cream is actually common in China. There is also another version called “baobing“, which is actually shaved ice with some sweet syrup.
